Belief System
Throughout history the world had many different belief system. A belief system is a set of mutually supportive beliefs. The belief system greatly influenced the lives of their followers and the society in which the belief system was practiced. How they did it was by creating different rules and teaching to help through your everyday life's. The two major belief systems were Hinduism and Buddhism. The rules and teaching they came up to help people's life were The Four Noble Truths , Eightfold Path, Nirvana. Also reincarnation, Karma, Caste structure. Buddhism emerged in Indif 500 B.C the founder was Siddhartha Gautama. Buddhism had many teaching but one of the teaching was The Four Noble Truth. Which people strongly believed in The Four Noble Truth was the believe that you shouldn’t desire things you couldn’t afford. For example if you wanted a iphone 6 but you know you can’t afford this desire things you need like a job or food. This teaching influenced the life of the society because The Four Noble Truth was basically stating that you need to follow these rules to be able to reach nirvana. The second teaching was The Eightfold Path which is control your thoughts which means resist evil. This also influenced the life of the society because they would be rewarded by reaching nirvana as a result of their behavior in this life. The last teaching for Buddhism is Nirvana which everyone is trying to reach but Nirvana in which the release from the cycle of reincarnation and reach enlightenment. Pretty much means that when your done reincarnating and you reach enlightenment. Hinduism emerged in India 1500 BC there was no founder. Hinduism has many teaching but one thing about the caste system it was organized in different caste structure but it relates to Hindu teaching because Which was based off what class you was born in it was broken down to Brahmins which was the priest who were on the top then second was Kshatriya which was warriors then third was Vaishya merchant then fourth was Sudra artisans then last but least untouchable (Dalit) these people got the jobs people didn't want to do they were forced to live outside the city. This teaching influenced the life of its followers and the society because if you wasn't born in a high caste system you would had suffered really bad if was born in a low caste system it would affect not only the way you live the job you have it would effect your kids when they grow up. Second teaching was Karma which is a sum of a person’s action cause from a good or bad deeds influences life circumstances. This teaching influenced the life of people and the society because whatever you do to someone good or bad it would either hurt you or don't hurt just watch what you do. The last teaching is reincarnation which is re-birth a division soul of spirit is barn. This teaching influenced the life of people of the society because not only you keep re-birthing if you are in a high caste system you can move up. In conclusion Hinduism and Buddism were both two major belief system. Belief system had an influence on the lives of its followers or the society in which it was practiced. Eventually the belief system led to the rise of the society. In that case Belief system were important to the society. Making Friends through the Internet
Have you ever meet someone on the internet and even became friends with them? Making friends on the Internet can be fine you don’t have to share any information about where you live, how old you are, or any personal information about yourself. You can even become friends with someone who even lives in a different part of the world, you can be whoever you want to be or just be yourself. Making new friends online can have their advantages: can build up confidence, meet new people, connect with someone who is just like you. In the article “Making Friends Through The Internet advantages and disadvantages of meeting friends online” by Sally Arthur he stated in paragraph 19 “While having friends online is good way to find people with similar interests, friend who exist only a computer screen do not provide the companionship necessary to sustain friendship.” This quote explains that you can connect with someone who is just like you who has similar interest in things like you. Another reason you can connect with someone online because in paragraph 8 stated “Online, you can be whoever you want to be, or be yourself. This allows people to practice their social skills”. This quote means that you can even connect with someone online to build your social skill so you can talk to people at your own school you can be yourself. The article “Study The Internet Helps You Make More Friends, Be More Social” by Graeme McMillian on paragraph 1 stated that “ new study from the Pew Research Center has found that online social networks actually seem to make people more social” This quote explains that you can meet people on the internet without getting comfortable with telling your information you can become very popular on having so much friends on social media. Another reason you can meet new friends because in paragraph 3 stated “ But more interestingly, there’s also been a rise in the number of close friendship people are reporting when compared with 2008’s 1.93 with that increase being lead by those online, who reported an average of 2.26 close friends to the offline respondents’ 1.75. It gets even better when you look at those using social networks, who reported 2.45 close friends on average. This quote explain that meeting people new friends online can boost your friends (close-together). My counterclaim meeting friends online can have their disadvantages in the article “ Making Friends Through The Internet have advantages and disadvantages of meeting friends online” stated in paragraph 4 “Making friends online also may prevent people from socializing outside of the Internet. While having friends online is a good way to find people with similar interests, friends who exist only on a computer screen do not provide the companionship necessary to sustain friendship. If having Internet comes at the cost of neglecting friends offline, the Internet becomes a disadvantage.” This quote explain why meeting friends on the Internet can have their disadvantages because not only you don’t know who you are talking to can cost you a-lot of things at the end of the day. Can stop you from talking to people you knew for a very long time. In conclusion making friends on the Internet can have their advantages but in general if you do have a friend you meet on the Internet be wise and don’t tell them your information. But making friends online can build you confidence, meet new people, find someone who has the same interest like you do.
I supported valid reasons why you can make friends on the internet can build your confidence up, meet new people, can connect with someone who is just like you. I anticipated on the address of the opposing on how it can be an disadvantage on making friends on the internet can prevent people from socializing outside of the Internet also friends who exist only on a computer screen do not provide the companionship necessary to sustain friendship. 2. Organization My section of my essay is organized in a logical way by supporting details about how can make friend on the internet. There is a smooth flow from the beginning to the end because I went into details stating quotes about making friends on the Internet and towards the I wrapped the whole essay up by briefly explaining what the essay was about in details. There is a clear conclusion that supported my argument about how you can meet friends on the Internet about even if you meet new friends on the Internet don’t be so cautious about who you tell your information to you don’t know what they will do with it. I stayed on task the whole time about making friends online. 3. Elaboration of evidence My evidence I used was relative to the topic for example “While having friends online is a good way to find people with the same interest.” There is enough evidence to be convincing that it is good to be friends with someone on the internet. 4. Language and Vocabulary I used formal, non-combative tone like states that, claims that, for example. I used vocabulary familiar to the audience like this quote, disadvantages, support valid reason, advantages, stated, similiar interests. 5. I followed the rules of grammar usage as well as punctuation, capitalization, and spelling in my first second third and fourth paragraph. Romeo and Juliet Scene 1 and 2
Scene 1 Characters Sampson Gregory Abram Tybalt Benvolio Officer Lord Capulet Lady Capulet Lord Montague Lady Montague Prince Scene 2 Lord Capulet Country Paris Clown his servant Summary: What happen in Scene 1 that the Montagues and the Capulet was fighting the Montague’s in the street and Benvolio came to stop everyone trying to maintain the peace the prince comes and tell everyone if they don’t stop the fighting their punishment will be death. Summary: What happen in Scene 2 was Lord Capulet was talking to Paris because he was next in line to marry Juliet at first Lord Capulet didn’t want Paris to marry Juliet because she was too young he just wanted to protected his daughter but then He came to an agreement that if Paris wins her heart at the party Lord Capulet invited him to that he can marry her. The Montagues and the Capulets were alike because the Montagues seem to be more of a caring family to their only son. The Capulets seem to be a stricter family towards their only daughter. Romeo was a Montague and Juliet was a Capulet. The ways that they’re alike is that each family has only one heir to the family name, and the way that their different is that the families can’t seem to find any possible way to get along with each other. Another way that their different is that the Capulet’s daughter, Juliet is extremely suicidal and when something goes wrong for her she always turns to killing herself for it. But the Montague’s son, Romeo is a kind and caring young man, but he’s desperately in love with a woman who doesn’t even know he exist. There is one last thing the families have in common, their two heirs fell in love and proved that no matter how much their families hate each other, their love will grow and bring the hatred to end of the families can be one. Memoir Finding Lolita in Tehran and The Story of a Return
The memoir they stood out the most to me was Finding Lolita in Tehran and the story of a return they signify how woman have no rights or saying to want they do. Here in the reading Finding Lolita in Tehran shows how she was in her house with gold hoops in her ears a orange shirt and pants when she went outside she has to put on this big black veil on covering her whole body she had to walk with her head down had to make sure she wasn’t even notice she even had to sit all the way in the back of the bus. In The story of a Return if a woman had her wrist showing or even laugh loud and listen to music she would be arrested a lady had got in trouble because she her pair of red socks were showing. Survivors
Surviving Hitler: A Boy in the Nazi Death Camps by Andrea Warren and The Devil’s Arithmetic by Jane Yolen are both similar and different. Jack Mandelbaum from Surviving Hitler, a non-fiction book and Hanna from the Devil’s Arithmetic, a historical novel, experienced the terror and fear of death in concentration camps. Surviving Hitler: A Boy in the Nazi Death Camps is about a boy that lived in Poland with his family. He and his family were forced to move into a ghetto, a crowded, poor neighborhood for Jews. Because Jack was working as a carpenter, he was sent to a concentration camp to work. Instead of being killed. Jack survived all the horrors with the help of a friend he made in the camp. Hanna, in the book The Devil’s Arithmetic is a girl who spent the Passover Seder with her relatives. She was bored and didn’t want to hear the adult’s stories of the war again. When it was time to follow the Jewish custom of opening the door for Elijah, the prophet, Hanna magically travelled back in 1942 to a Polish village where she lived with her uncle and aunt. They called her Chaya. Chaya was so confused about the changes but she was stuck with her family and acted like she was this person, to keep safe. Unfortunately, Chaya and her relatives were taken to a concentration camp. Fortunately, Chaya remembered learning about this in school and was able to calm everyone down so they could listen to her directions. Hanna was motivated to survive by the help of her aunt. Jack and Hanna both were spoiled, young teenagers who never thought terrible things would happen to them. Both were taken to concentration camps in Poland. They each had someone watching over them and helping them to get food and water. They both talked about their families a lot. They both were determined to stay alive and encourage others to keep on trying and not to give up. Jack survived his camp and grew up to have his own family. Hanna was about to be killed in her camp but was teleported back to her sedar table, and no one even knew she had been “gone”. Jack moved to America and went to schools to teach children about the holocaust. Hanna didn’t grow up in the story. She looked at her relatives in a different way and was now interested to hear her family stories and the Jewish people’s history. In conclusion Hanna and Jack both saw terrible things that terrified them. Every day they saw someone die in the concentration camps. They kept alive and kept loving themselves and remembering their families. 12-13-12
